Privacy Policy — Toppet
Summary
Toppet has no user accounts and never asks for personal information. To improve the app, it uses Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage and stability data. That is the only information that leaves your device.
Handled on your device only
- Battery status — level, charging state, temperature, and health are read on your device to animate your pet and show battery info. This is never transmitted.
- Display over other apps — used only to draw the pet on your screen/notch.
- Notifications — used only to show the ongoing “pet is running” notice for its background (foreground-service) operation.
- Keep running in background (exemption from battery optimisation) — optional, and requested only so Android does not suspend your pet while you are using other apps. It collects nothing, transmits nothing, and the app works without it.
Analytics and crash reporting (Google Firebase)
We use Google Firebase — Analytics and Crashlytics — to understand how the app is used and to detect crashes and app freezes (ANRs) so we can fix them and improve Toppet. Firebase collects:
- App usage and interaction events — e.g. which features are used and basic session information.
- Crash and freeze (ANR) reports — stack traces and the device state at the time (e.g. device model, OS/app version, memory), so we can diagnose and fix problems.
- Device and diagnostic information, and a random, app-generated instance identifier used to count unique installs.
It does not collect your name, email, contacts, precise location, or advertising ID (we have disabled advertising-ID collection). There are no ads and no user profiles. The data is anonymized and aggregated, and is used only to improve the app. It is processed by Google on our behalf and transmitted securely (encrypted in transit). Data sharing and sale
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising.
Children
The app is not directed at children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at this page with a new effective date.
